You have to specially request them to make you one up. It's actually a 29er but doesn't look like it, it just looks like a 26\" bike but it's actually about 5m further away than you thought. It plays with your perspective, the first time you reach out to lift it up you realise, as your hand grabs air, that it's actually another few steps away. Running on ENVE rims which were faultless through the week. Here the trail turns under the red rock formations and becomes quite exposed as it winds above this canyon. The wind tends to form little mushrooms here, as the softer rock is worn out leaving the harder rock as the cap. Eventually the cap will fall down and there is plenty of evidence of that happening on the floor below. We are over 1500m here and the views are pretty indescribable. Lucky I took some photos then! After the toughness we drop into a dried up river channel which flows sinuously down the hill with perfect natural berms. The last descent isn't hard but it's really, really long. There are no photos of that bit, I just can't bring my fingers to apply brakes. It is an old path linking villages but I can't believe that the corners can be that<\/strong> good for biking. After that we pick up this section of really, really hard, rocky switchbacks. This is us getting into Guara, a riding location which is defined by it's huge, sweeping carpets of rock.
