Ainsa Enduro Mountain Bike Holiday | Sample Itinerary
We don´t really do itineraries for our mountain bike holidays, we try to keep them as flexible as possible so we can tailor them to the groups we have. The Ainsa Enduro has lots and lots of options for what we ride in a very small area so we will be constantly changing it to suit you and your group. Having said that an approximate itinerary for this trip could be
Here is a typical trip we would run.

Sunday
Ainsa Enduro Mountain Bike Holiday | Day 1
Today we will run some shuttle runs near to our base. We start with a shuttle to ride a fantastic trail with views over the Pyrenees and a trail surface made up of millions of fossils. This leads into a tough but fairly short climb before another steep, loamy descent that takes us back to town. From there we have lunch and then run two more shuttles to ride a couple of classic trails with around 700m of descent each. It is a full day for the first day and we will arrive back to base just in time for a cold drink and warm shower. Today we have ridden two of the EWS stages and two non-EWS stages.

Ainsa Enduro Mountain Bike Holiday | Day 2
Today we start with a big uplift to a high village. From there we descend around 600m back to the valley floor, taking in some of the classic Zona Zero grey earth trails. From here we have a tough singletrack climb of around 400m to get to a ridgeline where one of the best descents anywhere starts! This was the favourite trail for most people in the EWS and it´s an amazing way to finish the morning. In the afternoon we ride a couple more uplifts in the area to get some more descending done before the end of the day.

Tuesday
Ainsa Enduro Mountain Bike Holiday | Day 3
Today we ride a couple of big uplifts in the morning, starting with Muchas Rocas and then the infamous stage 2 of the EWS which claimed a lot of riders due to it´s length. After a lunch we take another uplift and start a big point to point which takes us through a massive system of canyons with amazing views and great descents to the end of our ride. The van is waiting for us with a cold beer in a deserted village and then we need to drive around a couple of hours back to base.

Wednesday
Ainsa Enduro Mountain Bike Holiday | Day 4
Today we leave the main Zona Zero area again to ride two big descents that most people never ride. The first one is almost all uplift, with a 50m climb at the top, and then a 900m descent with some of the rockiest trails anywhere. It´s a technical challenge but a lot of fun. After a proper lunch we uplift around 500m and then have to climb another 500m on the bikes. The trail that takes us back down is amazing. It starts on the south side of the mountain, with massive views up to the Ordesa Valley, and winds round the hill passing through abandoned villages, before dropping down the north face of the hill on a humid, loamy series of the best turns I´ve ever ridden. An amazing day out. When we get back to the town we have the choice of a massage with a physiotherapist.

Thursday
Ainsa Mountain Bike Holiday | Day 5
Today is a big day. We start with a good uplift in the van and we enter a really old trail which now links a series of abandoned and semi-abandoned villages. It is around 15km, with about 250m of uplift so you have to work as it follows an old river downstream. The trail is amazing though, wild singletrack that reminds us what our bikes were invented for. After this trail we have lunch from the van and then ride 3 or 4 more trails in the afternoon with a mixture of pedalling and uplift. It´s a very tough day but one of the best.

Friday
Ainsa Enduro Mountain Bike Holiday | Day 6
Today is our last day and we will stay riding the trails close to base. We run some uplifts and use the vans to do some trails as point to points. We ride one classic trail backwards to enjoy the climb as a descent which works much, much better and is how the locals ride it. Then to finish we take a big uplift to ride the final EWS stage back to town. It´s an amazing, and tricky, finish and when we get to the main square it´s time for beers and high fives as we´ve finished our week riding the amazing trails in this part of the world.
