Rental Mountain Bikes | Bike Hire | Orbea Occam AM
We have just finished building up our rental mountain bikes for 2018 and they are available for hire. This year we will be renting the fantastic Orbea Occam AM bikes, in aluminium and with the top build kit. We have already sold most of the Orbea Rallon 27.5″ bikes from last year and the new bikes have just arrived and are built and covered with Invisiframe ready for renting.
We chose to rent the Orbea Occam AM bikes over the really, really special new Rallon 29″ for several reasons. Firstly the Orbea Occam is available in aluminium which makes much more sense for a hire fleet. Secondly these bikes are available now and the Orbea Rallon will only be available later in the year. Thirdly the Occam has a much wider range of sizes which again makes more sense for rental mountain bikes.
For anyone wanting to have a shot on the new Orbea Rallon 29″ bike, or to test if for size, we will have them for the guides and you are always welcome to give one a try. Between us we have the full range for sizes.
We tested the new Occam AM late last year and we were really impressed with its combination of light weight, climbing ability and confidence on the descents. The tweaks to the geometry really put it close to the previous generation Rallon for descending confidence. It only has 150mm of travel, which works great for most trails here, but with a long reach and 66.5º head angle it descends really well.
The full build kit on the bikes are:
- Orbea Occam AM H10 | Aluminium | Turquoise
- 27.5″ wheels, 150mm travel and 66.5º head angle
- We will have 1 Small, 1 Medium, 2 Large and 1 Extra Large to rent

As always we only offer rental mountain bikes as part of our holiday packages. The reason for this is that the hire bikes only just pay for themselves and don’t generate profit so there isn’t any reason for me to rent them outside of our holiday packages and day trips. Also if we rent them to someone outside a trip we need a special insurance which we haven’t taken out as that isn’t our plan. I’m sure that this will upset some people, as it has on previous years, however that is how we want to operate and we want to keep the best deal possible for our guests.
