basqueMTB have been in the mountain biking, and more general, press quite a bit this year. At the start of the year we were in The Guardian and in these last few weeks we have been in a fair bit of the mountain bike press. Here are some links to the latest articles.
We took Joe, Sam and Pete to Spanish Utah in July, normally we would only guide there in Spring and Autumn because of the heat, however this was the only time we could all get together. Hot, and tired from all the biking we had done, Pete finds he has some problems he needs to work through on the trail!
“Wasting no time getting moving, we dropped quickly
into some singletrack that offered a truly unique experience.
Dirt like crumbly clay offered masses of grip before giving way
into controllable slides, allowing a rate of knots that would
otherwise be impossible.”

Fitting everything you want to show a journalist into an itinerary is always hard, so it was that we rode Technotricity on the first day of Joe, Sam and Pete´s trip. They´ll be OK I thought, they all ride bikes for a living. It almost ended in tears for Pete though!
“Chat soon turns to how ferocious the trail we have just completed was. Nothing in the UK comes close to the severity, length and altitude loss.”

“One of the extraordinary things about riding in this region is how like the UK it feels; albeit a region of the UK where the trails go on for a long time, and where there are no access issues, and the food is much, much, much better.”
“these descents pretty much match those from yesterday, and in variety possibly exceed them – there are long, flowy high speed flights; short, sharp steep bum-clenchers; rooty sideways twisters, and (spectacularly) one which seems to run through a thicket of bamboo.”

Whistler? its a spanish common mistake to think that what is abroad is always better, but the truth is that you would be surprised with the never ending, technical and demanding trails of the always green and humid region of Guipuzkoa…. total ecstasy

This is an older article, from the start of the year when we took Benji Haworth from the Guardian round some of our trails, and bars. That was the end of winter and the winter beard was still present!
“I am in the Basque country, eating the best food I’ve ever had.”
“One second we are hacking through swoopy forest, and the next we are on the beach at Gros… flabbergasted that such a wild landscape can sit so close to a big old place like San Sebastián.”
