We have just finished a very busy season of mountain biking. We have had customers almost every week since April, making 2011 a fantastic season. Everyone seemed to be having fun and you can see a selection of photos from the season and some comments people have left over on the end of season photo round-up.

> Photos from this Season’s Mountain Bike Holidays

We have just finished our 2011 mountain bike holidays here in Spain. I have put together a selection of photos and a quick round up of everyone who spent their holidays mountain biking in Spain with BasqueMTB. There are a lot of photos here so it might be a bit slow to load up for you but these are some of the best mountain bike holiday photos from 2011 so hopefully it is worth it. I have also encouraged everyone who holidayed with us to put a comment at the end of the post, so this will hopefully turn into a bit of a guestbook. I hope you enjoy and if you have visited us the please comment!

> Review: Ragley Cheeky Mountain Bike Saddle

Review: Ragley Cheeky Mountain Bike Saddle

SUMMARY: The Ragley Cheeky is a hard, narrow saddle which I found uncomfortable, however the main issue is the shape of the back.
+ Lightweight.
+ Cheap-ish.
- Too narrow for me so uncomfortable.
- Sharp tail and sticky covering catches testicles and shorts.
- Time will tell but looks like it’s not built to last.

In July I crashed my bike when my SRAM mech decided to take a trip around my hub, causing me to plow a furrow with my elbow and at the same time bending my Charge Spoon saddle beyond repair. Time for a new saddle, and that saddle was the Ragley Cheeky, partly because I fancied a change but mainly because I liked the design! I have been guiding in Spain on this saddle for around a month so have had plenty of time to form an opinion on how it works for mountain biking. Read on for my review.   Read the post »

Alistair Roberts and his family have spent their summer holiday mountain biking in in the Basque Country with BasqueMTB for the last 3 years. The first year Keith, his dad, and Alistair were just learning to mountain bike but after two more holidays to this part of Spain they are riding some of our harder mountain bike routes. During their holiday this year we have ridden Cheeky Larrun, Nutcracker, All Along the Watchtowers, Dutch Courage, Carlos’s Ridge, The Damned, the Hives and Reverse All The Way Home. For those of you who have had a holiday with us before you will know that some of those trails aren’t easy propositions! Read the post »

Extreme Mountain Bike Descent from Spain to France

Today’s mountain bike ride inspired me to post some pictures and a few words. It was the last day of Ben and Iris’s 10-day mountain bike holiday and Iris fancied a day checking out the latest fashions from Spain in San Sebastian. This left Ben and I free to take our bikes up a mountain that I had pointed out to Ben a few days earlier… read on for more. Read the post »
